Delicate, like a snowflake!

One of my more recent paper cuts – I wanted to try something a little more delicate. It was pretty challenging, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Sketch of cutting

I started with a sketch, which I then cut out using an exact-o knife. Alice always used cuticle scissors, and I think I understand why now – I was terrified that I’d tear something, since the blade needs something to pull against. Scissors don’t need any tension.

Cutting out pieces

You can see that I cut out the pieces in chunks – it’d be fun to get a negative image, but super hard! Dividing it up makes it much more manageable.

Finished cutting

Tadaa! The finished cutting.
